What is SPL Token?
The standard Solana Program Library token format used across wallets and DEXes.
SPL Token usually refers to tokens created with Solana’s classic Token program. They are the common format for fungible assets on Solana — similar in role to ERC-20 on Ethereum, but implemented as Solana program accounts.
Classic SPL tokens support mint authority, freeze authority, and Metaplex metadata for name, symbol, and image. Most wallets and DEXes expect this standard.
